Abstract:

After giving an overview of erroneous expectations many educators have of CALL and offering a realistic assessment of CALL's capabilities, this article demonstrates the specific functions and the versatile role of CALL when use in conjunction with other teaching tools. Specific examples are given within the context of the Private Tutor System for the Macintosh.
