Abstract:

Religious naturalism is an approach to religious truth and meaning that is being articulated and defended in various forms by increasing numbers of thinkers today. This essay provides a description of some of the central ideas of religious naturalism and especially of what the author calls religion of nature as a version of religious naturalism. It sets forth a defense of these ideas in response to certain key questions regarding them. The essay recommends religious naturalism in general and religion of nature in particular for study and consideration by students interested in contemporary developments in religious thought.
