Chapter 3 deals with morphophonology, variation in the forms of words found in the speech of all speakers of Haitian Creole. These include short and long forms of personal pronouns, vowel reduction in verb forms, vowel blending, the variants of the definite determiner, and the complex set of phonological processes that affect post-nominal possessive determiners in Capois (northern Haiti), the local dialect.
