Chapter: Editor's Preface

DOI: 10.1558/equinox.29501

Blurb:

Rather than merely presenting the contents of the book, the preface explains the rationale behind the project, and discusses the two core issues addressed in the chapters of the book: the chasm between Religious Studies and Classical Studies scholarship in the study of ancient religions, and the current theoretical principles employed in the study of ancient religions, usually subsumed under the banners of modernity and postmodernity.
