Chapter 10 offers one way to attend to the feedback, drawing upon the ethnographic record to model religions as responses to social dilemmas and conflicts. We focus specifically on cases studies from the Tyva Republic, Bali, and Australia. We forge one possible path forward for the ethnographic sciences of religion, but we also stress the importance of maintaining the theoretical and methodological pluralism that currently flourishes within the evolutionary study of religion.
