This article presents case studies of the music programming policies of four Sydney FM public radio stations- 2SER, 2RSR, 2RRR and 2NSB. It analyses the extent to which those policies continue to fulfil the founding principals of the public radio movement and discusses the extent to which specific funding, resource and administrative factors dictate styles of music played
