The sixties raised issues and awareness among many; the women’s movement, anti-racism, antisexism, the peace and environmental movements were some of the causes which found expression in the 1960s.British jazz in this period represented a musical form and practice that embodied an aesthetic, cultural and also a political challenge to bourgeois culture and ideology.
