DOI: 10.1558/equinox.26120

Blurb:

This paper will examine the extent to which a corpus can assist the researcher. Preliminary considerations include types of metaphor, and their relation to the corpus: lexical and grammatical metaphor; metaphor and (versus?) corpus. A case study is presented: GMs for the global crisis in The Financial Times and Il Sole 24 Ore 2008. Materials and methods are outlined, and the question of negotiating volume/richness is discussed.
