In Chapter 5, Mike recounts the efforts of Reading to Learn South Africa to train teachers in urban and rural schools, in a nation with one of the world’s widest gaps in educational achievement. Mike also led R2L training in large scale teacher programs in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. R2L was also introduced to academic programs the South African universities, in which Tracey Millin participated.
