DOI: 10.1558/equinox.43246

Blurb:

Chapter One focuses on the role of positive (e.g., enjoyment, hope, pride) (e.g., Gkonouet al., 2017; Lee, 2020) and negative (e.g., anxiety, boredom) (e.g., Chapman, 2013; MacIntyre, 2002) emotions in the language classroom, emphasizing the need to balance the two types. In doing so, it focuses both upon the emotions manifested by teachers and their learners in the belief that they are closely related or even inseparable in shaping classroom practices and their effectiveness.
