Book: The Old Testament Hebrew Scriptures in Five Minutes

Chapter: 27. Was Josiah’s Scroll Lost and Found Twice?

DOI: 10.1558/equinox.44914

Blurb:

The historical reliability of the finding of a scroll in the temple during repairs under King Josiah is debated. The scribes who wrote Kings and Chronicles seem to conceive of the nature of the scroll differently, and the scribes who wrote Ezra and Nehemiah imply the scroll had gone to Babylonia with exiles and returned when the temple was rebuilt.
