Ivan Illich
With the acquisition of Marion Boyars Publishers Ltd. in January 2024, Equinox becomes the primary publisher of Ivan Illich in the English-speaking world. Beginning with the publication of his first book in 1971 (Deschooling Society) and informed by his interpretation of Christian theology, Illich consistently argued against the institutionalization of modern life and advocated for progressive measures to liberate and empower individuals. A biography of Illich by David Cayley, Ivan Illich: An Intellectual Journey was published by Penn State University in 2021.
