Dilemas y desafíos de la educación lingüística

This text illustrates some of the contradictions, which can currently be found inside the educational context as far as conceptualizations of languages and language teaching. These conceptualizations affect the measures taken for linguistic integration of immigrant students as well as affecting the native students. The article concludes with a listing of some of the actions now being implemented which favour linguistic education based in plurality of language use and competencies.
