Abstract:

This letter welcomes on the scene this new journal, celebrating it as a milestone for qualitative research in the field of communication disorders. The history leading up to this milestone is reviewed, beginning with the ancients. The letter ends with a caution that the journal should be adventuresome and embrace a wide variety of studies that fall under the rubric of qualitative work.
